The Third War

I was 11 when it started, but we didn't hear word about it till the following year. Those old enough to remember the Second War spoke in whispers, wondering if it would make it's way down south.

There had already been so much destruction in the lands nearest the Dark Portal. Some towns, such as Sunnyglade, were wiped from the map, while others were rebuilt. Located in the direct path between the Portal and Blackrock Mountain, Lakeshire wasn't spared. But the town was rebuilding, and some day, the bridge might actually be finished.

Following the Second War, many people moved here to start over, including my family. I was born the following year, and despite gnolls and occasional orc raids, Lakeshire was a fine place to grow up. The shadows of Blackrock Mountain were always there, but had been quiet for some time.

Now a new threat was growing in the north. The dead walking the earth and demons leading armies were a few of the rumors we heard. In time, further reports failed to include talk of war and the people of the south forgot about it, but I was to learn later that the war had moved north. Across the ocean to Northrend, where events would play out to effect me today...
